"Prairie Home" acrylic on canvas 2009
This painting was more of an experiment on texture. I would say 80% of the painting was done by pallet knife or my hands. I just used a brush for a bit of the detail in trees and house. It's a little 9" by 10" canvas but there is enough paint on the painting to cover a canvas 5 times that size. I really like this painting because I have never done one like it before.

"Fill 'er Up" acrylic on canvas 2009
This one I wanted to play with the clouds again as in my last painting. I think it is a really interesting look and I may use it again. And another first...I never painted a car or truck before. I based the gas station off an old photo of an gas station that used to be on Route 66. This painting is 20" by 24".

"Big Sky, Small Farm" acrylic on canvas 2009
This painting I wanted to emphasize on texture...physical and brush technique, and prove that mixing textures makes for a very interesting look. Even though each of the four planes are painted with different techniques, it does go together. This painting was a fun to do...it was a bummer to finish it, I was having a really good time painting it. It is 18" x 24".

"Garbage Day" acrylic on canvas 2001
A simple but appealing painting...I gave this to my mom, I always enjoy checking it out when I go over there.
"Peace Dove" acrylic on canvas 2005
"Jack in the Box" graphite on paper 1996
This is a drawing I did in high school. It won a Gold Key award and I was the first to win one at my school in 20-some years. was pretty exciting at the time...my little brother now has this drawing.
"Grand Canyon" acrylic on canvas 2006
A fathers day gift for my Dad. He always has loved the Grand Canyon, and I made this for him- two years later my whole family, Mom Dad and two brothers hiked down and out of the Grand Canyon, what an experience...one I will never forget and hope to again sometime in the future...Next time with my Lynn.
"Degas" acrylic on canvas 1998
This was one of my first assignments at MIAD...we had to reproduce a masterpiece as accurately as we could...was pleased with it turned out - I always loved Edgar Degas' work...still do.
"My Parent's Wedding" graphic marker an layout paper 2004
This is a caricature of my parents wedding photo...I did this on their 25th anniversary for their card...I don't think my dad likes this drawing too much, probably because it is pretty accurate (sorry Dad.) Anyway, my folks just celebrated their 31st anniversary, so maybe the brown bell-bottoms are good luck!!
"Homer J." acrylic on canvas 2003
"Kona Cafe Mural" acrylic on wall 2003
These are images of a mural I did at the now closed Kona Cafe in Mukwonago. There were four panels each at 4' by 8'. They were side by side and appeared as if it were a window looking out at a Hawaiian fishing scene. This was a very enjoyable mural to do...I did it in the overnight hours all alone and played music loud...my favorite way to paint. I have only good memories of doing this mural. I had a nice write up in the food section of the Milwaukee Journal when they reviewed the restaurant. It was fun to get to work that morning open up the paper and see my artwork... it was a surprise to me...it's just too bad they got rid of this place...oh well I have the photos and the memories.

"Song for the Angels" acrylic on canvas 2009
I was inspired by a song by The Great Lake Swimmers, "Song For The Angels". It's a beautiful, beautiful song.
"...never saw you, never heard you...but I knew that you were there, you're everywhere, I could feel you all around me..."

"Hoo-Ray Beer" acrylic on canvas 2009
I was in Jamaica last year for my brother's wedding...and I think I was drinking Red Stripe by the gallon. I like seeing this bottle, it reminds me of the great time I had on the trip. That's the life.
